About Me

Hey y'all,

I moved to Stillwater, OK in mid- July 2013 to begin the Speech Pathology graduate program. I am in my second semester of graduate school and was placed at the university preschool. I am working with phonological disorders, articulation therapy, apraxia, oral motor and language. I am very excited to be with the little ones. During my first semester, I worked with adults with Parkinson's Disease and Developmental Delay. They were a little out of my comfort zone; with that said, within the first two weeks and I fell in love with them. I went to the Speak OUT conference in Dallas, TX and learned their program. I was able to implement it with my clients and they had great success.
Previously, I was a preschool teacher. There is where I discovered my love for speech, language and communication. I had been exposed to all kinds of children with various differences: English as a second language learners, articulation disorders, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, selective mutism and stuttering.
I hope to document my experiences with you all on my journey to earning my CCC's. I will share with you the knowledge I gain and I hope you will do the same.

Go Pokes!

Laura
